Lawn Care

Lawns always grow vigorously and are weed-free and uniformly green due to expert fertilization and weed controls (insect and/or core-aeration may be added if the need(s) are discerned).

Our programs provide real nutrients and micro-nutrients in genuinely professional form and rates. True quality in lawn care results, based on UW-Madison turf science research and specific recommendations for our area. The UW turf program is nationally recognized and conducts extensive on-going research that is incorporated into our service formulations, techniques and methods. Non-phosphate fertilizer formulations per Wisconsin water regulations.

True Professional Mowing & Trimming

Professional mowing service throughout the growing season; includes trimming, pickup of debris, blowing off of walks, patios and drives; and alternating "lines" - mowing direction and pattern - each week. Mowings are completed same day begun.  Mowings shall be at best height level for health and appearance---3.5 inches. UW Turf Science for at least two & a half decades has adamantly advised to mow preferably not below 3.5" (This is especially true during hot/dry summer periods; Reason: short mowing literally shocks or stresses the grass plants seriously, reducing the ability to perform photosynthesis).

During mowings, clippings will be directed away from landscape beds, tree circles, and other ornamental features in the lawn or adjoining the lawn like walks, driveways, streets, doorways (or will be mulched in by closure of  "chute.")  Sidewalks & streets are blown off during mowing, section by section, rather than at end of the day!

Pickup of lawn debris (cans, papers, trash, branches, etc.) included with each mowing.

Spring & Fall Clean-Ups

We can prepare your yard for the late fall & winter by cutting back plants, and cleaning up debris. In the Spring, we can clean up winter debris, take care of plants that need to be trimmed and prepare the soil and freshen up the mulch.

TECHNICAL HORTICULTURE MAINTENANCE

American Landscape provides maintenance services for all your horticultural needs. We offer services in the following areas and also provide insect and disease prevention, diagnosis and control.

Flower Beds

We can create incredible flower bed designs, perform the annual planting and provide seasonal care. We can also do hand weeding and pruning of these areas. The result will be well-maintained, impeccable flower beds that will be a joy for all to see.

Weeding of Landscape Beds

Throughout the entire season, American Landscape's weeding program de-weeds most of the season on an every two-week basis, to achieve real control - these programs ultimately cost no more and often far less than less frequent programs that allow huge numbers of weeds to grow between visits and then take huge amounts of time to correct the deficiencies. The result is a pleasing, "weed-free" look virtually all the time.

All our weedings include the removal of the basal suckers on the trunks and bases of the trees - especially important on Locusts, Crabs, and other suckering tree species. Cleanup in beds of normal bed debris; e.g. cans, paper, etc., are included with each visit.

Walks and Paving Vegetation Control also included for seams between driveways and streets, curbs and streets, and curb-stops, and asphalt parking lots; side walk seams. All pavement. Retaining walls of fieldstone, Lannon stone, or manufactured stone or of timber materials are also possible locations for vegetation to appear, especially along the base of such walls - all of these are included.

Pruning

Trees, shrubs, and evergreens maintain their shape and health through careful pruning. More than size and shape and appearance may also be at stake: such as the timing of the year for certain species; pruning for proper development which promotes long-lived plantings; and certain species which need periodic rejuvenation, such as certain varieties of Spirea, Potentilla, Forsythia, Viburnum, etc. Knowledge, skill, training is guided by International & National Arborist Associations standards & the 4 Certified Arborists on staff.

Fertilization

To keep your landscape plantings healthy and looking their best, fertilization at the appropriate times and in the appropriate amounts is important. We can fertilize your trees, shrubs, evergreens, perennials, and provide weed control - all done by certified applicators.

Seasonal Color & Lighting

In the spring, enjoy tulips, crocus, daffodils, hyacinths and other colorful bulbs. Planters mixed with these and Forsythia, for example,  make stunning entrance arrangements. For Summer, annual flowers and perennials make for dazzling displays in beds,  planters, and hanging baskets, often with accompanying shrubs, evergreens, & decorative stones or water features.  In the fall pumpkins, mums and asters brighten up any area.
